The No. 14 Terrapins fall to Illinois on Senior Day 65-66. This loss became Illinois’ first win over Maryland in their program’s history after losing the previous 17 matches.
Maryland was led by Kaylene Smikle with 15 points and has now scored double digits in 21 straight games. Illinois was led by Genesis Bryant with 20 points and pushed the Illini ahead after making two free throws with 6 seconds remaining.
Maryland will be heading to the west coast to face Oregon and Washington over the next week and they return home on Thursday, Feb. 13 to take on Nebraska at 6:30pm.
